This is a really random post but I'm bored at work and was looking on KUTV to see what kind of news was going on. I came across a few stories that just made me laugh. I'll can think about is how there must be no news to report on. My favorite one is about the gnomes. It's probably just me but I thought these three stories were strangely funny.
Homeless Gnomes Rescued
More than 1,500 gnomes were left homeless after their owner died and left her collection behind in Australia. Fortunately the gnomes were saved from destruction and are being placed in 'foster' homes. The gnomes will reportedly be reunited for an annual gnome convention next January.

Woman Plans To Marry Roller Coaster
A 33-year-old woman from Pennsylvania suffers from a condition where people develop sexual feelings towards objects. As a result she has fallen in love with a roller coaster and it's a fairly long distance relationship because she lives about 80 miles from the ride. The woman says she rides the coaster 300 times a year.

Ear Stitched Into Woman's Bottom
After a piece of her ear was severed in a fight, surgeons in Germany had to wait for damage to the side of the woman's head was repaired before reattaching the ear. So in the meantime they stitched the severed lobe into a pocket in her bottom to keep it safe until they could operate.
The woman's ear was bitten off in a fight and doctors' first attempts to reattach the ear were not successful. Doctors believe that the ear will not be rejected by the woman's body when they do operate.

How I Golfed!
Yesterday was the last day of the Women's State Am at Thanksgiving Point. It was a great experience, unlike any golf experience I have ever had. I think both my mom and I were glad to be done, we both were really exhausted. I had such a great time and can't wait to play again next year. I wished I could have played better, but considering this was my first big tournament and I hadn't ever played the course I did alright. My biggest problems were playing both the front and back nine together. I would play really well on one side, then completely blow it on the next side. And my other problem was staying out of the sand traps that were much much taller than I was. It was basically a blind shot out of there every time. I had a blast and met some really fun ladies, and got to know the head ladies of the Utah State Women's Golf Association who all are encouraging me to come back again. I definitely encourage anyone looking for a challenging golf course to try Thanksgiving Point. Besides being difficult it really is a gorgeous course. I'm going to go play the course again away from the tournament to see what it's like without all the nerves. I was really excited for my friend Natalie Stone, she won the whole tournament. My mom and I were able to walk with her on a few holes. She is an incredible golfer and deserves this, she has put a lot of time and practice into her game to perfect it. I also had a worker at the golf course ask me if I will ever play in the championship flight, and I said cha you know it, he laughed at me I just thought to myself man I'm a geek. But one of these years I plan on making it into the top of my flight!

Women's State Amateur
In about a week and a half I'm playing in the Women's State Amateur. It starts on Monday July 20 through the 22 out at Thanksgiving Point Golf Course. I have always loved playing golf and always love the challenge of playing a new course and competing with other golfers. I'm definitely not one of the best golfers, but just like everyone has said, I really don't have anything to lose. When I went to put the form to sign up in the mail I almost turned back around with it, I kind of freaked myself out, but I realized I would regret it if I didn't give it a try. The best part about this is I get to have a caddy! My mom is going to come and caddy for me which should be fun! I don't think she is too thrilled, she gets competitive like me and gets bugged easily at ladies ha ha! I'll have to do something to pay her back! Any way just thought I would let everyone know, because I really don't have anything to to blog about and I'm bored at work! So wish me luck, and hope that I don't embarrass myself out there.
